There are three or four things that we really love to see happen:
We love it when guys experience love and understanding in the most unlikely of places: in a red-light district from a bunch of Christians.
We love seeing the people who volunteer with us, attend one of our seminars, or first come across the MST Project “get it.” What is “getting it?” It is that moment when someone proverbially stands up and turns around 180 degrees, transitioning before our eyes from a position of judgment, disgust, anger or indifference to a position of compassion, understanding, broken heartedness or love towards the guys who are seeking to buy.
We love seeing the men and women who partner with us in ministry practice confession, experience freedom from sin, and walk in openness before God.
Above all we love it when God shows up – when some funky coincidence that just shouldn’t be happening takes place in front of a guy showing him that just maybe there is a God who is thinking about him.
Why do we network? Why do we share the vision of the MST Project? Because at its most elemental the work of the MST Project is accomplished with a simple change of perspective: men are a part of the solution. Yes, our time in Cape Town was rough on a lot of levels – and yes, we never really did find a great place to connect with guys seeking to buy sex at the World Cup. But in the end, we saw men and women joining us in ministry experience real freedom, we saw countless individuals experience a new perspective on how to engage with one-half of the equation: the guys, and we saw God show up.
