Second Chances May 04
This conversation left me deeply sorrowed.
Once again, we met and prayed like we always do, seeking the Lord, worshiping Him and proclaiming His name and love over an area that denies His very existence even though He has formed the hearts of all, and considers everything they do (Psalm 33:13-15). We prayed for an encounter with one person, asking God for a divine appointment. As we prayed, we all simultaneously felt led to Soi Cowboy. So we left and began journeying down the road to the exit of Soi Cowboy. As we arrived, we were discerning as to who we felt led to talk to that night. I then looked at my friend and we both nodded our head in agreement, "Him?"
He was the first guy we tried to talk to that night, and ended up being the only guy.

A Late Night Stroll Apr 17
Before us stood a gentle, free spirited man, and an all around nice guy out for a late night walk; finding it ironic that he initiated the conversation with us. Chalk it up to another week spent on the street listening to and meeting an interesting individual with a unique story. We found ourselves around a table talking stories from past travels decades prior; I nodded politely as if I had been around long enough to understand, yet genuinely interested in the life that was living and breathing before me. He was quite honest and open as he talked about his experiences living and traveling abroad most of his adult life. Though I saw many doors open quickly before me I sensed I needed to practice being patient and continue to listen.

Hearsay or Truth? Feb 07
Sometimes we meet people with a natural sense of authority about them. Someone who stands straight, tall, looks respectable, and speaks with a loud and ear opening voice, he could almost be mistaken for military personnel. Although we run into people with high levels of confidence in what they say it still needs to be tested. We run into many on the street who have gained a lot of hearsay and kind of adapted it to what makes them feel better about their life and actions and to anyone else who may hear it, it may even sound philosophical and well thought out. But like I said earlier it needs to be tested. Even as a Christian many people kind of just go with the flow of what they hear in church or someone who sounds “Godly”.

His Questions, My Answer Jan 31
We talked a lot about suffering and evil in the world, and if a good God was out there why wouldn’t he show up and do something about the horrific evils in today’s world. He wants God to be real, the idea of a loving God sounds really great, “all should want that, right?” He said. "But where is the evidence, "where is a compassionate God who will come and rescue the afflicted and the suffering people’s of the world." Hasn’t he come already, didn’t he walk among us. Jesus is a historical figure, regarded as a profound teacher, one with authority and power to heal. He claimed to be God and left us to answer the question for ourselves “Who do say I am?” Jesus said.
