Heart of Darkness Jul 10
This weekend I went on a street outreach with the MST Project to the red-light district of Phnom Penh. MST is a Christian project that reaches out to Western men (North American, European, basically any non-Cambodian who can speak English) who are in the red light districts looking to buy prostituted women.
The purpose is to reach them with the love of God and be an example of restoration and redemption. We go out in groups of 3 and open up conversation through a survey about them, their views on prostitution and information on HIV/AIDS. There is also a team that stays in a prayer centre and covers those on the outreach throughout the night.

Triumphing Over Sin Jul 07
I wanted to share with you what I felt the Lord speak to me in one of my quiet times last week. While praying I felt that the Lord was leading me to read Daniel 8:1-7. As I was reading these verses I felt that I saw the story in a new perspective. NOTE: I do understand that the perspective I am about to share is not the original intent of the Scripture, but I do feel that the following analogy has reminded me of how He triumphs over sin.

There are three or four things that we really love to see happen:
We love it when guys experience love and understanding in the most unlikely of places: in a red-light district from a bunch of Christians.
We love seeing the people who volunteer with us, attend one of our seminars, or first come across the MST Project “get it.” What is “getting it?” It is that moment when someone proverbially stands up and turns around 180 degrees, transitioning before our eyes from a position of judgment, disgust, anger or indifference to a position of compassion, understanding, broken heartedness or love towards the guys who are seeking to buy.
We love seeing the men and women who partner with us in ministry practi!--StartFragment-->

World Cup Jun 21
We flew into Cape Town, South Africa not knowing exactly what to expect. We were planning on holding a seminar teaching local missionaries and other volunteer workers about MST Project ministry. Other than that, we kept our schedule fairly free for meeting new people and for the ability to be lead by the Spirit.
But we also went to the country at the beginning of the 2010 World Cup. Tourists were flocking to Cape Town from all far flung corners of the globe, and the infamous vuvuzelas blowing 24/7 were a testament to this. New restaurants and hotels were opening before our eyes and salesmen of fortune were hitting the streets.!--StartFragment-->

Men Are Part Of The Solution Jun 08
Look at an excerpt from an article we found in the Sunday Times, right here in Cape Town:
As we prepare to host the world’s biggest sporting event, large numbers of visitors have begun to arrive in South Africa. However, large sporting events are known to increase levels of sex trafficking...
…We [South Africa] have passed the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Amendment Act 32 of 2007, which criminalises buyers of women for sexual exploitation. Yet large numbers of women abusers, pimps, brothel and strip-club owners go unpunished. They are powerful men with money. They buy women's bodies and bribe police…
Wherever women and girls are impoverished or displaced they are at risk of traffickers….
